Mary, Mother of God Parish Nchang in Mamfe has been stroked by men of the underworld.

The Christian community of Nchang Parish in the Diocese of Mamfe, South West Region of Cameroon were devastated this morning as they woke up to the news that men of the underworld have broken into their church and made away with the Tabernacle and the Blessed Sacrament. It is not clear exactly as to what time of the night the thieves broke in the church. Those at the scene suggest that the Tabernacle was taken because it was difficult to break and trying to break it in the church would have alerted the Priests. In these gloomy moments, the Christians of Nchang and their Parish Priest are soliciting our prayers ; not just for the Blessed Sacrament to be returned to their Church immediately but also for the conversion of souls of these men of the underworld.

It should be recalled that similar incidents have occurred in the past in other dioceses across Cameroon. It is alleged that these men of the underworld who steal the Blessed Sacrament use it for ritual and other unthinkable sorcery practices due to the belief that the Blessed Sacrament has magical powers.

At the time of reporting, investigations have just begun.
